Kirstyn is originally from Edmonton and moved to Vancouver in 2018 to go to hair school at Blanche Macdonald, and has been working behind the chair ever since!
Kirstyn is our extension specialist, extension educator and manager at QALI! She has been doing extensions since graduating hair school and has fallen in love with being able to boost her client's confidence by enhancing their natural beauty. She is fully trained in the QALI Micro-weft method and brings her previous extensions experience to ensure an effortless blend while protecting the health and integrity of your hair.
Whether you are looking to fill out a bob, add a bit more density or go for a big transformation she is your extension girl! She is fully trained in cutting & coloring but is currently only accepting extension clients.
When Kirstyn is not in the salon you will find her in the gym, on a hike with her dog Felix or at a winery with friends!

HOW
- Shampoo, do not condition.
- Towel-dry thoroughly.

- Let sit for 4 minutes. Do not rinse out.
- Then comb + style as usual (fine to add heat protectant or styling product now).

OUR EXTENSION METHOD
We offer one method of semi-permanent hair extensions at QALI which we call a micro-weft. This is a braidless, sewless, beaded weft method designed to give natural looking results that are gentle on your hair and less damaging than other extensions methods. We use our own brand of ethically sourced premium quality remy hair extensions and do not install hair that is not purchased at QALI. All prices below include the cost of hair + installation & blend.
1/2 HEAD
The half head is typically for those who mostly want volume. It's perfect if you have fine hair that is naturally quite long. The best part about a half head is that you get the benefits of having extensions, with less blow dry and styling time. It's not a volume that works for everyone, but for some it's just the perfect amount of oomph!
3/4 HEAD
The 3/4 head is our most popular volume of hair. It works for most people and definitely makes an impact. We can blend most cuts with a 3/4 head, especially if your hair is fine to regular thickness. You can achieve both length and volume with this baby!
FULL HEAD
The full head has the most volume and is usually required if you're looking to gain a significant amount of length or have thicker hair. It's a lot of upkeep to have a full head, but the results are 100% certified mermaid!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ARE EXTENSIONS ONLY FOR LONGER HAIR? WHAT IF I ONLY WANT VOLUME?
Our installation technique is great for people who want to achieve not only length, but also volume. We often have clients who do not want longer locks, just extra thickness or filling out their ends. In this case, we install the extensions and cut them to match the length of your natural hair. Not wanting extra volume and just length? By positioning the wefts in alternative positions we can help you achieve the length that you want without the added bulk of extra hair.
WHAT ABOUT COLOUR?
Our wefts come in 10 shades that match a broad range of hair colours. Ideally we want our clients to reach their desired hair colour before we install the extensions. Since the extensions are human hair, they can be coloured but we only recommend darkening or toning them. Your stylist will walk you through all of your colour options during your consultation. Since the hair we use is 100% human hair the colour will shift overtime, the same way your natural hair does. Darker shades will lighten up on the ends and blonde shades will warm up so we recommend booking in for a tone every few months or whenever you feel like the colour needs a refresh.
CAN YOU WEAR YOUR HAIR UP?
Yes! Our micro-weft extensions can be worn in ponytails, buns and braids without showing. The wefts are strategically placed to stay hidden and can always be adjusted during your maintenance appointments.
HOW MUCH DO THEY COST?
The cost of semi-permanent extensions totally depends on the length, density and style of your natural hair and how many rows of extensions you'll need to ensure it looks natural.
